 You may format text within WhatsApp messages. Note that there isn't a way to turn this feature off. Italic Put an underscore on each side of the text to make it bold: _text_ Bold Put an asterisk on either side of the text to make it bold: *text* Strikethrough To strikethrough your message, place a tilde on both sides of the text: ~text~ Monospace To monospace your message, place three backticks on both sides of the text: ```text``` Note : Alternatively, you can use shortcuts on Android and iPhone. Android : Tap and hold the text you've entered in the text field, then choose Bold , Italic , or More . Tap More to choose Strikethrough or Monospace . iPhone : Double tap the text you’ve entered in the text field > Format . Choose Bold , Italic , Strikethrough , or Monospace .
