Read original

This morning, old N500 and N1,000 notes from customers were still being collected by Deposit Money Banks.

Contrary to what the Central Bank of Nigeria claimed, the banks were not required to collect the old N5,000 and N1,000 notes from customers.

Among the financial institutions assembling the old notes are GTB, First Bank, Fidelity Bank, and Sterling Bank.

Additionally, contrary to the CBN’s assertion, the Cash Return Portal of the CBN advised people with old N500 and old N1,000 notes worth less than N500,000 to deposit the money at their bank.

This is a developing story…
