Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has issued an order restricting vehicular traffic across the nation on March 18, 2023, the scheduled day of the elections for governors and state houses of assembly.

The directive does not apply to the Federal Capital Territory because there are no elections taking place there, according to CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force's public relations officer, who announced this in a statement on Thursday.

The ban, according to Adejobi, will be in effect from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Following the upcoming gubernatorial and state assembly elections, which are set for March 18, 2023, the inspector general of police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR, has ordered the restriction of all vehicular movement on roads, waterways, and other forms of transportation from 12 am to 6 pm on election day in all states where elections will be conducted, with the exception of those on essential services like INEC officials, Electoral O This decision does not apply to the Federal Capital Territory because there is not an election taking place there, according to the statement.

"In a same vein, the IGP reiterates that during the election, no security assistants to VIPs or escorts may accompany their principals or politicians to polling places or centers for election collation.
