Marriage proposal almost ended in tragedy , after woman swallow ring hidden in her food

As a Kenyan woman accidentally swallowed an engagement ring that was hidden in her food as a surprise, a wedding proposal almost resulted in tragedy.

The Nation Kenya said that Jessica Hawayu and her family had gathered for a family party on Sunday, March 12, at her home in Gongoni, Tana River County. She had no idea that her boyfriend Johannah Charo and the family had organized a surprise engagement party.

The day got off to a good start with food being prepared by family members. Jessica was given the responsibility of making her father's favorite dish.

"Our father loves Pilau, and so does her partner. She therefore committed herself to it since she understood it was for her father "Melanie Hawayu, her sister, stated.

While waiting for the go-ahead from his girlfriend's family, the boyfriend and his buddies hung out in the neighborhood. They got an SMS at around 2pm telling them to start moving toward the venue as the tables were being placed.

The woman's mother and the woman's boyfriend devised a scheme to hide the engagement ring in a serving of pilau, where she would find it. Dad had objected to the idea, but since we had none of our own, we decided to go ahead with it despite his objections.

Melanie provided the narration. Serving the food, Jessica's mother kept dispatching her off on errands while burying the ring in the plate.

Charo was about to emerge from behind the girlfriend's seat after sneaking inside the compound. When his lover began choking on the meal, Charo's tiptoe approach to the table was halted in its tracks by the laughter and joy at the table.

All efforts were made to save her as she got up from the table and hurried to her father, who hit her three times on the back before she threw up the ring.

"Dad was afraid something would happen, even though we didn't expect it to. Mom cried since it was so near "stated Jessica's younger brother Oscar Habil.

She did, however, awaken to answer "Yes," the engagement ring already on her finger, since Charo maintained he would marry her whether she was alive or not.
