Due to the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offenses Commission's (ICPC) inability to present the defendants in court, the re-arraignment of former Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, and 10 others before a Federal High Court in Abuja has been postponed.
The former jamb registrar was scheduled to be arraigned alongside his four children on new fraud accusations while also undergoing trial at the same court on N5 billion fraud charges. Mary Funmilayo, Olumide Abiodun, Adedayo, and Oluwaseun are the co-defendants.
Along with Doyin Ogboni Petroleum Limited, Cheng Marbles Limited, Sapati International Schools Limited, Trillium Learning Centre Limited, and Standout Institutes Limited, Ojerinde's businesses are also charged.
Eight of the accused were not present in court, therefore the arraignment of the defendants could not proceed.
In its statement, the prosecution claimed that it could only serve Ojerinde and was unable to serve the other defendants.
Immediately after requesting that the ICPC serve the defendants, Justice Inyang Ekwo postponed the case to April 19. He issued a warning that if the defendants did not show up on the new day, there would be repercussions.
