Security guard arrested for the death a house help

The 24-year-old security guard Barnabas Job has been detained in connection with the suspected murder of Thereza Ekibi, a 26-year-old housekeeper, according to the Lagos State Police Command. 

The housemaid was allegedly murdered in her bedroom by the suspect in the same house they both work and live at Country Home Estate in the Lekki region of Lagos, according to Benjamin Hundeyin, the command's spokesman, who gave journalists the update on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The PPRO claims that the suspect's cutlass was found with a bloodstain on it.

According to him, the suspect and the cutlass were transported to the State Criminal Investigation Department's Panti homicide branch for further inquiry after the suspect admitted to the crime. 

More information revealed that the defendant had made overtures to the victim; however, when she declined, he grew enraged, grabbed a cutlass, and killed her. After k!lling her, he made an attempt to flee but was stopped by neighbors who then called the police at Ikota Division. 

The deceased was stated to originate from Wanikade town in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State and took up the job as a home help before she was murd£r£d on March 5, 2023.
