Some North Korean bodyguards face the prospect of being k!lled for allowing leader Kim Jong-un to go out with stained clothes
Because they permitted leader Kim Jong-un to leave the country wearing soiled clothing, some North Korean bodyguards risk being k!lled.
Last week, propaganda images showed the dictator inspecting a missile launch while wearing a stain on his shirt. It was reported in North Korea that Kim's servants would be penalized for failing to "protect his dignity" since his jacket seemed to be covered with white stains.
According to Michael Madden, a blogger of North Korean news, those responsible for the stain face promotions or hard labor, but even execution cannot be ruled out.
My first thought was OMFG," he admitted. Employees who have offended the supreme leader are typically disciplined via promotions, difficult tasks, or labor education.
Unless the boss is feeling exceptionally mercurial, it is unlikely that anyone will lose their cool over something like this, the author writes.
However, if he became upset over this, some people would undoubtedly be sent to a farm or a construction site for a month or two to reflect on this minor infraction. It is not unheard of to be sent away for execution, he continued.
According to reports, the leader's father, Kim Jong-il, sentenced bodyguards and members of his private staff to prison terms and, in one instance, executed them by firing squad for relatively minor infractions.
Unconfirmed rumors claim that a member of his personal staff smoked one of his cigarettes while sitting at his desk. When Kim Jong Il learned of this, he had the man shot.
The guards might have to submit an apologetic letter, according to Madden, who runs the North Korea Leadership Watch website, in order to have their penalty lightened.
However, he added that it was also possible that Kim might get away with it because "he is much less prone to mood swings and problems with emotional regulation than his father."
