The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that they would be going after some outgoing governors and other public officials after May 29

After May 29, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will start prosecuting some departing governors and other public figures.

In an interview with Daily Trust, Abdulrasheed Bawa, the chairman of the EFCC, revealed this. He informed the media that certain arrests would be made right away following May 29.

Bawa revealed that at least two ministries are currently on the commission's radar for fraudulent operations that border on procurement processes, while she avoided giving names or the precise number of public employees who would be brought to justice.

A ministry is accused of defrauding the government of N4 billion on 20 contracts. Bawa stated

"Right now, we're looking into two ministries that received double payments. The multiple payments in one of the ministries totaled roughly 20 contracts worth more than N4 billion.

"These were contracts that were completed back in 2018, but some bold individuals subsequently came up with the same story.

"They removed the documents from the file, faked them, and then, naturally, inflated vouchers and pay in a plot involving some federal servants. How is that possible given that our procurement processes are digitalized?

Bawa also responded to demands for his dismissal from several civil society organizations by saying;

It is official that I am the first EFCC chairman in office to go in court and give a testimony—not once, not twice, or even three times.

We now have a collection of individuals coming up with various gang-ups after being paid, and we are aware of who is paying them.

"We are abiding by the law and the due procedures. What do you expect when the court rules, we appeal that decision, and the execution is stayed? We continue!

How many of our cases ended in failure? We earned 3,785 while losing 41. What exists? What are we discussing? Who is the loser? Who doesn't lose? No one is successful or unsuccessful. But that is how it is!

"It occurred in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023, and it will again occur in 2023. We attend as students
