US mission congratulates Nigerian professor for receiving $300,000 prize

 


The $300,000 Dan David Prize has been awarded to a history professor named Saheed Aderinto, who has received congratulations from the US Embassy in Nigeria.


This was announced by The Mission late on Monday on their Facebook page.


Congratulations to Saheed Aderinto, a Nigerian-American professor of history and African and African Diaspora studies at Florida International University, who became the first Nigerian to be awarded the $300,000 Dan David Prize—the largest financial honor in the world for excellence in the historical discipline, according to the post.


The Lagos Studies Association's founding president is Professor Aderinto.
