WE ARE GOING TO RECLAIM OUR MANDATE ___ DATTI

WE WON THIS ELECTION, WE ARE GOING TO RECLAIM OUR MANDATE ___ DATTI

1 MARCH 2023

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party, LP, on Wednesday pledged to regain the party's mandate and noted that both he and LP candidate Peter Obi had won the election.

He revealed this in a statement he released shortly after the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, pronounced Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the APC's presidential candidate, the victor of the poll.

He stated that there was no election because the results could not be electronically sent.

Our view is that the results of the alleged election fell short of the required electoral standards, in his words.

- Datti Baba-Ahmed, vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party

We shall keep fighting, and we implore Nigerians to keep fighting for their rights. Despite our lack of faith in the current system, we urge Nigerians to cast their ballots for the Labour Party in the upcoming governorship and state assembly elections.

The Election Act 2022 specifies that election result shall be electronically disseminated, this was not done it means the election did not hold."

"We request that Nigerians continue to carry out their civic responsibilities like they did during the previous exercise."

"The Nigerian people are winners, and they are waiting for Peter Obi and I to be given authority. We won this election, but they wouldn't upload the results to IREV.

"We are going to claim our mandate as Labour Party, we won the election as Labour Party, and we are going to save Nigeria as Labour Party."
