Man impersonates actor IK Ogbonna defrauds US woman of $70,000

The police have detained a 23-year-old guy named Kelvin Enofe for pretending to be the Nollywood star IK Ogbonna.

On Tuesday, the actor announced this on his Instagram page.

Before the law caught up with him, the impostor allegedly conned a US woman out of $70,000.

He added that he will never solicit for money online and issued a harsh warning to con artists to cease using his name and image to defraud others.

"This is to once again warn the public to be wary of all those using my name and image on social media to defraud innocent women in love relationship scams," he added.

One such instance is the recent case of Kelvin Enofe, a 23-year-old teenager who defrauded an American woman of almost $70,000.00 USD. As luck would have it, some private detectives saved the woman by exposing Kelvin Enofe's genuine identity.

Following the aforementioned inquiry, the Nigerian police sought Kelvin Enofe's arrest, looked into the situation, and brought him to the Igbosere Magistrate Court in Lagos, Nigeria, where he is currently on trial.

"I'm doing this again today to let people know that there are a lot more people online who are making similar claims to IK Ogbonna.

"I will never ask anyone for a financial favor over the Internet, therefore if you notice someone doing it on social media, please report them to me on my verified social media account.

"Spaurell Private Investigators Ltd and the Nig police did a fantastic job. Ogbonna Ik."
