Shakira seen looking tearful at the airport as she bid farewell to her friends and family

 

Following her breakup with Gerard Pique, Shakira was seen crying as she said goodbye to her friends and family at the airport before permanently departing Barcelona.

The 46-year-old Colombian singer, who allegedly received a "eviction notice" from her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique's father, Joan Pique, is relocating to Miami.

Spanish media reports that on March 13, the singer got an email from Pique's father requesting that she leave the former couple's home by April 30 or pay compensation.

Before Joan Pique became the single shareholder after his son's breakup with the former couple, the house is said to have been owned by the former couple. The house is where Shakira famously installed a witch on the balcony in an apparent jab at Pique's mother who lives next door.

Pique, 35, is currently seeing Clara Chia Marti, 24.

Shakira embraced her loved ones in the airport while wearing double-denim and appeared tearful before boarding her private jet.

The "Hips Don't Lie" singer was accompanied by Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, her two sons who are rumored to be beginning school in America on April 11.

Shakira announced her departure from Barcelona on Twitter on Sunday, April 2 with the following statement: "I settled in Barcelona to offer my children stability, the same that we are now looking for in another part of the world next to family, friends, and the sea.

"Today, a fresh chapter in our quest for happiness begins.

"I'd like to thank everyone who was there for their support, for wiping away my tears, for inspiring me, and for helping me to develop.

"Thanks to my Spanish fans, who have always supported and cherished me,"

But things are not always how we imagined them to be, she continued as she posted a picture of a plane wing as she departed the Catalan capital.
