Tobi Makinde, an actor and director, has noted that Easter, when Christians commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is a time of contemplation for him.
"For me, Easter represents the death and resurrection of our dear Lord Jesus Christ," he said in an interview with Sunday Scoop. Now is the moment for Christians to make amends.
"I actually don't have any specific plans for the Easter break, but for me, it's a time to reflect. I would therefore prefer to attend church, think on the meaning of the season, and then proceed.
Speaking about those who practice open philanthropy, he noted that while he does not approve of it, he also does not condemn it.
"I'll say no to open philanthropy," he declared. I don't believe it is necessary to draw attention to the good one does for others. What is the current key to it if one wishes to promote it? I won't, however, claim that I do not comprehend why certain people engage in public philanthropy. Perhaps it's due to the expansion of their non-governmental organizations.
"I don't give to brag, for me. Giving ought to be possible without drawing attention to oneself. It's acceptable if the recipient chooses to discuss one's generosity. Even while I dislike open charity, I do not criticize individuals who engage in it.
